invisalign - tray 1

well, after weeks and weeks of waiting, my invisalign came in last thursday. i went to the orthodontist today and got the buttons put on - 5 on top, 4 on bottom (the buttons act like little anchors to help the teeth move). i will have 8 sets of trays. they will be worn for 2 weeks each unless the orthodontist thinks i need to stay with a certain set for longer. the inside of my mouth is killing me from the buttons rubbing. other than that, it isn't horrible so far. there's a lot of pressure but it isn't unexpected. the worst part (other than the raw inside of my mouth where the buttons are) is the removal of the trays. i have to use a little hook like the dentist uses to clean your teeth to pry them off. the trays will get looser as the days go by, but i'll put on a new set just as soon as these get easy to pull off. the constant brushing and flossing everytime you want to eat or drink anything other than water is annoying as hell. i'm sure i'll get used to it. yay for aleve and advil. yay.
