July 31, 2004

well, having pizza for dinner put me over on points for the day. i used 9 of my flex points, but they had reset today. not a big deal. anyway, we had planned on going to iz to earn some activity points, but adam made me mad and we didn't go. my day was productive with the purchase of the new shoes that i will be trying out tomorrow when i start week 2 of couch to 5k! yay!

week 18

wow. i can't believe i've been on program for 18 weeks. so, today i was down 1.2 for a total of 33.2 pounds gone. i am quite amazed with myself. we went to get adam a new pair of running shoes after we had breakfast today, and i started looking at my own running shoes. anyway, it looks like i didn't have the right shoes for me. adam asked the nice girl that was helping us if losing 30 pounds could make a difference. she was amazed that i had lost that much in just a few months. :) anyway, i got my new shoes. i changed from saucony to mizuno. to make sure that my shoes would be good for me, i had to walk and run on a treadmill while they taped my feet. strange but very insightful!

another day is gone. actually, another week on program is gone! i finished the day by swapping 2 of the APs that i earned from playing DDR. there really wasn't anything that was remarkable about today. i was super low on points up through coming home after dinner and iz. after dinner, i still had 4-5 points left. a peanut butter sandwich after DDR pretty quickly zapped through the points, but i am just fine with that. i hope that the exercise is ok with weigh in tomorrow. i guess we will find out soon.

we went to iz today because adam wanted to earn some APs. i don't think that i want to go again on a friday night until i know more if it has an effect on my weigh in on saturday mornings (water retention caused by the muscles hanging on to the water to heal themselves). anyway, i played for an hour, and i earned 11 APs for it. i've been thinking about changing how my APs are calculated. Instead of using the WW criteria, i think that i might use the number of calories burned on my HRM divided by 100. i've been thinking a lot of about reducing the number of APs that i can eat to boost weight loss. perhaps i will try that starting today to see how it goes....

well, i finished today with having to swap 5 of my APs. i didn't want to use more than 5, so it was pretty good. we went to milt's for bbq. it was tasty, but it was so heavy that i wanted to spew while i was playing DDR. bleh, then my tummy was upset. at least the day is over. i am planning on going to the store tomorrow to buy a bunch of food. eating out is too difficult. anyway, i think that i've done really well this week. i have been making a big effort to eat fewer points by making better choices. i hope that it pays off on saturday!

omfg. nutty exercise day. i went to the fitness center to do the week 1 day 3 of couch to 5k. when i got there, there were people on the treadmills. so, i rode the stationary bike at a pretty good pace for 20 minutes until the people were off of the treadmills (2 AP). then, i did my couch to 5k stuff. it was killing my shins today, but i was able to complete it (2 more AP). then, we went to iz tonight. i ate a very heavy dinner right before we played. BAD MOVE. anyway, my 25 minutes of play earned 5 APs. i'm pretty excited about starting next week's c25k stuff, but looking forward i am SCARED. i guess i will get better over the next few weeks and things will be ok. if not, i will keep repeating until i am able to finish it! i can do this!

well, i hadn't come anywhere near using all of my points for the day until after dinner. adam and i got to go have a late after dinner dinner (haha) with jay and john at denny's. it wasn't too bad. i finished the day with using all of my target points plus 4 of the activity points that i earned earlier. yay. 2 more days until weigh in. i hope that goes well. while i can't control what my body wants to do, i would really like to drop another 6 lbs by commencement the weekend after labor day!

well, i played DDR at home for 30 minutes. it sucks to play at home because the pad moves a little bit, and i am worried about the downstairs neighbors. anyway, it was high intensity according to my HRM, so i earned 6 APs. i also managed to pass 2 new songs on heavy! yay.

wow. not a bad day. i figured out that i over counted something from last night, so now i am only at 0 FPs left for the week instead of -2. i also managed to eat within my target points and the 2 APs that i earned! yay! i hope the scale likes that on saturday. anyway, it was a pretty good day overall. i sucked with my f/v. i really need to work on that more. :(

well, today was couch to 5k week 1, day 2. i felt better than i did on sunday except for the pain in my shins. it was nothing that some more stretching can help. according to my HRM, my average heart rate was 163 , and i burned 295 calories! yay! tomorrow is a day of rest, then i finish up week 1 on thursday!

not a whole lot to say about today. i sucked with my f/v, but i was good on water and milks. i also finished up the balance of my flex points which don't reset until saturday. yikes!! today was my day of rest from C25K, so no APs for me.

much better day than yesterday. i did eat over my target points, but i did eat within the points that i had for the day. i only ate a handful of the APs that i earned. big improvement over the 50ish points that i ate yesterday!!

i earned 13 APs today. 11 were from DDR. i passed a few new songs on heavy today, so that was pretty cool. adam and i also started couch to 5k today, so i got 2 APs from that. very cool. i am excited about doing the next day of C25k. :)

whoa. points BONANZA today! jill and i went to the cat show. i got a few APs from walking around. after the show, we all went to dinner. we had japanese food which was excellent. then, we went to coldstone, and i spent about 20 points on ICE CREAM. it was really good. i don't regret it. i might at the end of the week through when i have no flex points left!!

another day, another trip to iz. i only played for 35 minutes today because i started to feel barfy. i think it was a combination of the heat (95 - VERY hot for seattle) and having my depo shot yesterday. bleh. i stopped playing, and i started to feel human again. oh well. i wish my arm would stop hurting from the shot. i always feel lousy for the day of and day after my shot. at least it is only once every 3 months!

ah, last day of the week. i finished today by swapping 5 of my 7 DDR APs for food. it could have been much worse.

yikes! i finished the day by swapping 8 of my APs. it was that last piece of pizza (5 pts) that really did it. oh well, i wasn't off plan at least.

so, i decided that i am going to start the couch to 5k program on sunday. i decided to see if i could run at all. so, i ran for 10 minutes. it wasn't much, but it was certainly a start. i earned 2 APs for it too! tonight, adam and i went to iz. i played for 40 minutes and earned 8 more APs.

yikes! i wanted to be under 40 points today, but i finished at 40.5. i didn't get any APs today, so i used 12.5 FPs. at least i had them. bleh.

well, i finished today by swapping 9 of my earned APs. i didn't eat breakfast, so i wound up eating a SO pizza as a snack after dinner. heh

another day, another trip to iz. i didn't feel like i really played today. i felt very unfulfilled. i played for about 1h 15 min, but i don't feel like it. i was breathing very heavily like i normally do, so i dunno what the deal is. oh well.

i finished today with using 12 APs and 1 FP. we had olive garden for dinner, but it wasn't awful. not a bad day.

back to iz for another round of ddr. i set up my polar m32 HRM to calculate calories today since i didn't have that set up yesterday. according to ww, i earned 12 APs for the hour. according to the HRM, i burned 530 calories in 1 hr 2 min. my average heart rate was 151. for a 30 year old person, the moderate to heavy intensity range is 133-161 BPM. not bad. :) i also passed 2 more songs on heavy mode.

yay! i got my clapping hands charm at my meeting! how cool is that!?! i shockingly was down .2 for a total of 29.4 down! yay!

another day gone. i figure i will be up tomorrow, so i just didn't really care how i did on points. i guess we will see how bad it goes in the morning...

i bought a heart rate monitor today. i was curious as to how many calories i was actually burning while i was working out. i went to REI and i got the polar m32 HRM. i wore it playing DDR, but i didn't have the calorie count set up. bleh. anyway, it worked well other than that. very cool. 12 APs for DDR.

well, with the 16APs that i earned today, adam and i went to milt's bbq, and i had an 18 point dinner! it was absolutely worth it too. anyway, i finished the day with 3.5 of my APs left. not such a bad day.

lots of ddr today. i got 3 APs from playing ddrmax2, 2 APs from ddrmax, and another 11 at the arcade for primarily playing extreme but i also played 4th plus.

MUCH better day. i didn't even make it through my target points until 8:30 pm when i ate a morningstar farms homestyle chili and cornbread pot pie type thing. i finished the day by swapping 3.5 of my 16 earned APs. YAY! just a few more days until weigh in and my flexies reset.

woo hoo. tons of APs today! i played on my new ignition pad this morning and earned 3 APs. after that, i went for a walk with a friend and then walked down to the mall and back (another 2 APs). tonight, adam and i went to play DDR for 55 minutes (11 more APs). i hope that i won't have to swap them all out today. i still have just .5 FPs left for the week.

yikes. another bad day FP wise. i am down to .5 left for the week (will reset on saturday). i did get 7 APs though, so that helped out a bit. ugh. i am a bit scared about saturday's weigh in.

another trip to iz today. my ankle was still crappy, so i only earned 7 APs. some is better than nothing! we stopped by the mall on the way home, and i got a red octane ignition ddr pad. with the major foam in the pad, i think i could play at home on it. i am concerned with the noise from jumping around, so i will only play during the day while everybody is at work!!!

no exercise today since my ankle is still bothering me. today was a flex points using frenzy. i am getting lower than i wanted to be. oh well, i will make it through. i haven't run out of any yet!

bleh. another day has come and gone. i finished today by swapping all 12 APs, then i consumed another 2 FPs. it could have been much worse (like saturday!). heh

big shocker: we went to play DDR. played for an hour. i really couldn't do any heavy mode songs today after playing essentially nothing but heavy mode yesterday. i did a few of the harder songs on light and the rest of the time on standard mode. my ankle was bothering me. bleh.

i had lots of bad stuff to eat today including mexican food and pizza! oh well, it was the first day of the week, so i have plenty of time to get rid of the "badness" before next weigh in. i used all 15 APs that i earned plus 7 FPs. yikes! at least the day is over. :)

wow. awesome DDR day. i played for 75 minutes which earned 15 APs. i also passed ~15 new songs on heavy mode. click here if you want to see what i have passed on heavy mode. :) i am so excited. most of them were 7 foot songs. how cool is that?!?!

well, another week down. i was down 1.6 this week for a total of 29.2 pounds gone forever! i wasn't sure what would happen with my being sick and on antibiotics and all. i am happy with the progress this week. :)

whoa. i used 10 FPs today. after not being able to really play DDR after hurting my ankle, the FPs became a necessary thing. we were going to have subway for dinner, but adam got me the wrong bread, and the chicken was yucky. soooooo, i wound up eating a cheeseburger happymeal for 12 points!

lesson for today: do not play ddr with a bad ear infection. if you do, you will fall off the platform and hurt your ankle. only 15 minutes of play today. enough said.

whoa. bad day. i just started taking augmentin last night for my ear infection. in the 3 doses that i have taken, i am STARVING for several hours after each dose. soooooooo, that means that i used a bunch of FPs today that i would have rather not used. that really sucks.

back to iz again. played DDR for an hour today to earn 12 APs. i passed 3 more songs on maniac mode on 4th mix plus again. so, i am pretty happy about that. i played like crap today though. bleh. i feel crappy.

well, today was a sucky day. i went to the doctor because my ear was still killing me from the ear infection i had last month. now, i have an ear canal infection AND a middle ear infection. so, i am on an antibiotic now. bleh. anyway, point wise i had to use all 12 of my APs for food. thankfully, i did not have to use any FPs. i hope i don't have to for the rest of the week. i also wonder if the slower losses i have experienced over the last month are because of my ongoing ear infection??? hmmm.....

well, another day has gone. i still can't believe that i have been doing weight watchers for 3 months as of yesterday. i am amazed. well, i finished today with 0 target and 0 APs left. i really wanted a mcdonald's cheeseburger, but i did not go get one! yay me! if i hadn't been so damn tired, i probably would have gone to get one. oh well, at least they are only 7 points and that is why we have flexies!

well, we were thinking of going to play DDR today, but we wound up moving the furniture in the bedroom and stuff around in the storage unit. according to caloriesperhour.com, for the 90 minutes of lifting and moving stuff, i burned nearly 1000 calories. after the moving, i was folding clothes and such. therefore, i counted it as 10 APs. not too bad.

well, another week down. as of today, i have been on the weight watchers' program for exactly 3 months! yay! today i was down 1 lb for a total of 27.6 gone FOREVER! yay!

another morning at iz. i played mostly 4th mix plus on the solo machine again. i passed a bunch of new songs on maniac mode today. i also started a new page to track my progress at passing songs on heavy/maniac! yay! i played for 45 minutes which helped me to earn 9 APs. :)

i tried to be really good today since weigh in is tomorrow morning. we went to subway for dinner where i ordered the sweet onion teriyaki sub (but on the better italian herb and cheese bread) for 8 points. it was pretty good. i knew that i would be hungry after playing DDR, so i tried to conserve my points. i did pretty well with that. i had to swap only 2 APs for food. yay. i guess we will see how well that works tomorrow.

we went to iz. it was a bit strange because we haven't been on a friday in ages. anyway, i only played for 40 minutes because my knees were angry. i earned 8 APs for it. i played a lot of solo (4th mix plus) again today. it was really nice to play the older songs. the backgrounds are awful, but the songs are fun.

well, my knee is still unhappy. however, i played for 45 minutes. for the first time, i played DDR solo. there were some cool old songs. adam played DDR extreme as usual. :) i earned 9 APs, so it was still a pretty good workout.

not such a good day. i had the honey BBQ sandwich at crapplebees. so, i wound up using all 9 APs and 5 FPs. it could have been worse, but i am going to try to not use any FPs that close to weigh in again.
