conclusion to the ring drama...

ok, so i picked up my "new" ring yesterday.

it is AWESOME. the 2 stones taken out are sooo little and cute! the solitaire looks awesome with the band. the band is wide enough that the solitaire doesn't dominate, but the solitaire is wider than the band so it still looks in proportion. i am very pleased. :)

adam and his weird quizzes.

ok, i took the most recent one on his blog, and here's what i got...

busy day

so, today was pretty busy.

had breakfast
took adam to work
went to post office
went to check out cat boarding place
went to mall (and walked around for 30 min while they polished one of my rings)
brought adam lunch
came home

it doesn't sound like much, but it took a long time to get it all done. :)

ah the saga of the ring continues...

it got all scratchy again. so, i met with georges the jeweler, and i think we found a solution. instead of dealing with 2 rings, we're going to take the solitaire and put it into the existing anniversary band. 2 of the stones in the band will have to be removed to provide enough space for the head to be mounted, but it will work! he said to bring it in on monday, and he'd have it done on wednesday. it's going to be a little bit more money, but i will be happier.

got my ring back

the store manager at bb&b, craig, is awesome. he is very helpful. we got my whole ring drama straightened out. :D hopefully this one will be better than the other one. i guess only time will tell. they do a have a rockin 2 year jewelry care plan that i had to purchase (that was how i wasn't charged for the resizing). i think it will be worth it to have. anyway, bb&b is back in my good graces.

ebay

why is it so freaking hard for people to pay for the shit that they win? c'mon people, pay for your damn auctions. with that being said, bid people, bid!

jewelry drama

so, i noticed last night that the new setting on my solitaire is all jacked up (scratch wise) after having it for only 2 months. i went to bb&b today to see what could be done about it. the store manager helped me, and he recommended that we try re-setting it into the same setting with a new ring. the jeweler is supposed to have it done tomorrow. i hope it takes care of the problem. i pulled out a few other rings (1-14kt ring, 2-18kt rings) that i have worn with my anniversary band, and NONE of them have the same scratching. i'm going to take those in tomorrow as an example of what i believe is a reasonable expectation for scratching.

I HATE UOP

lessee...

i have 4 years and approximately $37k in student loans from my master's degree in addition to the money spent on the 2 years it took me to finish my bachelor's. so, i think that pretty well qualifies me to make judgements about UOP.

in order for me to change from the ground campus to the online campus (a totally different company), i had to fill out about 1/3 of a page of information, a form acknowledging that i had an internet connection and appropriate software, and sign a form saying how i was going to pay for it.

in order for adam to change majors (still with the online campus), he has to fill out 4 forms. yes, i said 4. he has to completely fill out a NEW APPLICATION. he also needs to fill out that financial agreement form, the technology agreement form, and an enrollment agreement.

WHAT THE HELL? i'm not angry about any form other than the application. give me a damn break.

results from the visit to the allergist

so, it seems that my allergies are better than they used to be. maybe they've gotten better as i've gotten older combined with living here. i had very little reaction to the test. they did the 28 scratches in the lower arms, and then did 10 injections into my upper arm when the lower arm test didn't get much of a reaction.

so, i am going to stay on singulair daily and take zyrtec only as needed now. even though the test didn't really show my big melon allergy, the doctor prescribed an epipen because of the reactions i have had in the past. i go back to see him at the end of august.

if you ever need an allergist in the seattle area, i would highly recommend dr tilles in redmond. :)

oh yeah, i've got pics

allergies suck

so, i have an allergist appointment on monday. i had to stop taking anything with an antihistimine for 72 hours prior to this appointment. so, the last time i took any zyrtec, singulair, or benadryl was thursday! god, i feel awful. i'm so glad that i only have another day left like this. BLAH. i will report back tomorrow with the list of what i'm allergic to...

oodles of fun at the emergency room!!

i woke up this morning and my feet were all rashy and itchy. i promptly took 50mg of benadryl, but that didn't help. i noticed that the underside of my arms was getting the same way, so i called the doctor to make an appointment. after that, i started having asthma/breathing problems/shortness of breath, so we made our first visit to the ER at evergreen in kirkland. 3 hours later, 1 paper bag (i was starting to hyperventilate), a prescription, and a breathing treatment later, i was released. my BP got up to 163/90 at one point (in triage), but it wound up around 118/75. all is good now. now, when i start getting really itchy, i will take the new med instead of benadryl... YAY. good thing i'm going to the allergist on monday.
