shopping!

adam and i went up to the outlet mall again because i needed to get a new bra or two. well, maidenform had an awesome sale on some of the styles. the deal was 3 bras for $15. so, i bought 6. hah they are nice too! i figure that i can't even buy 1 bra at victoria's secret for $30. now, i won't feel bad about putting them in the washing machine in the delicates bag at all. i also picked up a couple of pairs of cute, angora argyle socks at EB. i love angora socks. they are the best. i also (finally) bought a new bathrobe. YAY! :)

hey jude and sgt pepper

next time you listen to hey jude, pay close attention to the voice in the background (john) at 2:58. :)

sgt pepper's lonely hearts club band (the movie) is weird. i just don't get it.

the apprentice

martha: she needs to kick more ass. she's too soft. i want to see the angry, merlot-demanding martha from the movie.

donald: that was the best freaking boardroom ever. i can't believe he fired *4* people! WTF!!!

hanging out with the jodibunny

jodi and i went to the DOL to get her learner's permit (which she did very well on the test for btw). we drove up to marysville to go to ranch1 for some chicken. yet again it was far superior to the ranch1 shit in NYC. we went to coach, clarks, back to coach, polo, the fudgery, zales, and the ultra diamonds where jodi got a sweet pendant. after that, we drove back to redmond to take care of the dog. we picked up adam, went to dindin at qdoba, and headed to bellevue square so we could go to the crapple store and get a new keyboard. we also went to the nyc cupcakes place. their cupcakes were tasty tonight.

overall, it was a great day. i'm also pleased with the new keyboard.

my fav west wing quote

i wish i could remember which episode this is from. (UPDATE: i just read that the quote is from episode 410-arctic radar). i saw the quote on imdb.

Leo McGarry: Now, please, don't leap into it. Don't...
[Bartlett answers the phone]
President Josiah Bartlet: There are BIG SIGNS. You CAN'T park there. They *should* get towed. I hope they get towed to Queens, and the Triboro is closed, and there's a big craft show at Shea, a flea market or a tractor show.
[Bartlett hangs up]
Charlie Young: Well, that was probably his secretary.
President Josiah Bartlet: Damn it.
Charlie Young: You can bet she'll be parking in a garage though.

a great time this evening

we went out to chinese food with jodi. it was great to hang out. we've been so busy lately that it's been hard to get together. we went back to her place, and adam did some work on their media center pc. it's running a whole lot better now. i guess only time will tell if it is more of a long-term fix or more of a band-aid. tomorrow i'm taking jodi to the DOL, and then we're going to head up to ranch1 for some nummies. :)

re-encoded my music collection

i re-encoded about 270 CDs to change from mp3 to AAC format. it took several days to do it, but it's done now. thank god.

fall tv review

west wing has gotten suckier and suckier. it makes me not really want to watch.
law & order ci is a little better since bringing in a bit of "new" blood.
las vegas has gotten suckier and suckier. i'm about ready to stop watching it.
csi miami is great.
medium is not as good as last season, but it isn't bad.
commander-in-chief is good. it's better than the west wing. after all, what would we do without a political drama.
law & order svu is great. i loved mariska's performance a few weeks back.
close to home is good. if i had a job, i wouldn't make time to watch it.
america's next top model is great for some catty comic relief.
lost is amazing.
e-ring is great. i love dennis hopper. the intro is amazing.
apprentice martha is bleh. it has been getting stronger weekly.
apprentice donald is crap. it has been getting worse every week and every season.
alias is awful. i'm about ready to stop watching it.
csi is great.
without a trace is great.
threshold is good. if i had a job, i wouldn't make time to watch it.

alias

i am pleased that they brought the old intro for alias as of last week.

i am displeased that they are bringing in a ton of new characters. WTF. without irina, sydney, sark, and vaughn the show needs to end. it needs to end at the end of this season. LAME!

the best buy iPod saga ends...

yes, it is over. we went to the bellevue store and swapped out the old one for a brand new, sealed unit. adam's listing it on eBay now. nate, aaron, and russ were all fantastic. we would still be dealing with this crap if it wasn't for those guys.

you know you take TV too seriously when...

... you use hurley's winning lottery numbers from lost to play powerball.

frailty is a disturbing as hell movie

yeah, the title pretty much says it all. it was really good but very disturbing.

thanksgiving dinner

so, i found a PR firm's website that was talking about a restaurant in seattle that was doing a thanksgiving dinner. so, i talked to my dad about it. he said that it got really good zagat reviews, and their normal menu looked good, so i made reservations for 8. yes, 8 (parents, creighton/casey, jodi/richard, and adam/me). man, that's a lot of people! it looks like it might be good. their website is http://www.waterfrontpier70.com

sporky!

i submitted to have a WA title issued for the spork. it should arrive in 8-10 weeks. on the way to the DOL, spork hit 120k miles. wow! since it was a sporky b-day, i took him to get a nice wash and vacuum. he was pleased and sparkly clean! yay spork! i love my little spork.

i was watching a movie, and there was a song that i wanted to find. i did a web search to find out the name of the song, and i found out that it was actually a track on one of my CDs that i had ripped by never listened to. it was very cool. as much as i love the iTMS, it was nice to not have to buy it. with my luck, i would have bought it and then learned that i already owned it. yes, i've done that twice before.

update on the flannel jammies

they didn't have the gnomes in a smaller size (other than a size small), so i had to get a different pattern. i got snow globes. hahaha they're cute. :)

October 16, 2005

mmm flannel jammies

i love my new flannel jammies. the pants are great for hanging out when i don't feel like wearing jeans anymore. i need to take the set back (my gnomes) that still has the tags on it and swap it out for a smaller size. i guess i'll do that at some point this week. i will deal with the sock monkeys being way too big since they've already been washed anyway. at least they have a drawstring waist.

lost and political dramas

abc is rockin' this year.

we finished off the season 1 DVDs of lost and the first few episodes we tivoed of the 2nd season. i really like the show. i'm glad that we didn't have to wait months to find out what was in the hatch. :) it's really well cast. wikipedia has an awesome entry/series of entries on the show, plot lines, and the characters.

since commander in chief had been getting such good press, i thought i'd watch it. it was decent. with west wing ending, i guess another network needed to pick up a political drama. west wing had a decent episode tonight too. i wasn't the slightest bit surprised that toby with the leak. after all, he had strong feelings because of his brother being an astronaut. the first episode of season 2 also had people that seemed shocked to see toby. there's speculation that bartlet pardons toby as one of the final acts of his presidency. i can totally see that happening. i guess we'll find out later in the season.

busy morning

had breakfast ~9:15am
dropped adam off at work ~9:45am
went to petco ~10am who didn't have the litterbox i wanted
went to target ~10:15am and bought 2 pairs of flannel jammies and a new bath mat
went to paule attar ~11am for a haircut with liz (who kicks lots of ass)
went to other petco ~11:45am and bought the correct litterbox, litter, and cat food
returned home ~12:30pm and returned my dad's 2 phone calls about his new cell phone/rate plan and set up the new cat box.

while i was at petco the first time, i finally got a callback from PMI. they said that submitting an official transcript was more than enough proof of the PM classes that i took, and he was pleased that i had also submitted a class schedule which showed both start and end dates (the transcript shows only the end date).

podcasting and the new video iPod

i haven't been psyched about podcasting at all. i decided to look through the available podcasts today. some look like they might be interesting. i find that especially true for the few tv show recap/discussion ones. i subscribed to 2-3, so i'll check it out.

now, the new iPod. other than it being thinner, i'm not all that psyched about it. i wouldn't want to watch tv shows on it. it's still all about the music for me. it's nice to have the ability to read my calendar, contacts (which you can't edit), and look at some pictures, but i don't understand the need for video. i just don't get it. even if i hadn't just bought a new iPod last month, i wouldn't rush out and get a video one. it would be more of an option if i was in the market for a first iPod or as a replacement device for a dying unit or non-iPod. maybe i'll change my mind later, but i dunno. i do think that the black iPod is a nice addition, but of course i would think that way since i just bought a U2 because of the black last month. i am a big fan of the color red, so i like the U2's red scroll wheel. i guess they really learned from the feedback from customers on the U2 and the overwhelming demand for the black nano.

October 12, 2005

i give up

i give up. PMI is obviously not going to call me back, so i'm sending PMI a transcript as proof of my PM courses and MBA. hopefully they'll get the damn thing processed quickly so i can take the freaking exam.

October 11, 2005

amazing race: crappy (aka family) edition

it was cool to see them go to the space and rocket center in huntsville. having the opportunity to go to space camp/academy was such an amazing experience. i'm really glad and lucky that i got to do it. they assigned all campers to teams with names that were of some of the companies that worked on the space shuttle. i was on team teledyne brown iirc. rocket park kicks so much ass. it was really amazing to stand at the base of some of those fantastic creations. the centrifuge that they used in this episode was different from the one that we used while i was there. this one is a lot smaller. :)

is it really that hard to call me back?

it must be because nobody seems to do it.

October 10, 2005

a busy, not busy last few days

i talked to wells fargo to find out when the title was sent out. turns out that it wasn't. the person that i spoke with had just taken over that office, so she sent it out on friday. i also left a message for a guy at PMI to see if i can use my transcripts instead of having somebody sign some letter.

we played ITG on saturday and went up to the outlet mall in marysville. jodi had told us how good ranch1 chicken was before we went to NYC. we went there, but it sucked. it sounded good since there really isn't anything else like it in the area. there is a ranch1 that just opened in marysville, so we went up there to give it another shot. well, it was realllllllllllllllly good. it took forever to get the food because they were way understaffed, but it was really good. we also wandered around the outlet mall to make the drive worth it. there are some nice stores. i'll have to go up there and do some shopping when i need some new clothes. also, i did talk to apple about adam's iBook. it was sent out on saturday (it arrived via DHL overnight today).

yesterday was our 6th anniversary. we watched a bunch of episodes of lost, went out to zao for a late lunch, and hung out.

my arm is still hurting a lot, so i guess i need to call the doctor later this week.

October 7, 2005

annoyed

i am annoyed because a wells fargo rep told me that my title would be mailed to me on the 2nd. i called today because i haven't received it yet. the very nice person that i spoke with today is going to pull the file and call me back and tell me what's going on (she said that she just took over that position).

i am also annoyed because i finally got the email from PMI regarding the random audit for which i was selected. they are auditing the educational/classroom information that i submitted. there is a form where i'm supposed to have somebody sign it saying that i provided the correct information. however, that is easier said than done. i'm waiting on a callback from them also. i hope that they will accept an official transcript as proof. i don't see why they wouldn't, but i don't know for sure.

my elbow

so, i went to the doctor on wednesday. she said that she expected to see tennis elbow, but it isn't that simple. she's not entirely sure what's wrong. she gave me a sling to wear for a week and instructions saying that i need to see an orthopedic surgeon if i'm not better after being in the sling for a week.

it still hurts a lot. i guess we'll see how i feel next week.

October 5, 2005

pain

for some time now, i've been having a lot of pain in my elbow. i've smashed it really hard a few times, so i could have done something bone wise. it could be an RSI or just plain 'ol tendonitis. anyway, it's really hurting. tylenol and advil don't help. i'm going to the doctor in a few hours, so i guess we'll see what she says.

October 3, 2005

crossing jordan/las vegas crossover shows

yeah, they suck. they sucked the first time. the first one of this pair sucked last night. tonight is the 2nd of the two. dumb dumb dumb

continuing de-cluttering

lessee...

we moved the ebay stuff out of the living room because we were pretty sick of looking at it. we decided to put it in the closet in the office. i also decided that it might be a good idea to clear off some of the space in front of the wall heater in there for when creighton and casey have to sleep in there in november. in case they wanted to turn it on, all of the crap needed to be moved from in front of it. in order to make that possible, we moved the elfa into the closet. it works pretty well because we don't have to have the closet doors open all of the time now (the litterbox is now out of there). there's still some stuff in front of the heater, but i think we can find places for it.

it's so strange to see the office looking so empty. we were even able to open the curtains. as long as it isn't hot outside, the light in the evening won't be terribly bad.

October 1, 2005

itg

i didn't play much ITG today. i'm feeling crappy and weak from the flu shot yesterday. bleh.

oil change

sporky got an oil change today. we found out that adam gets a 25% discount at the pennzoil 10 min oil change on redmond-fall city road. i'm certainly not going to complain about that. :)
