yup, another one. my doctor thinks that i really should look at having my tonsils removed as the ENT thought might help. i'm getting a bad sinus infection at least once a quarter. that is just not good. maybe i'll check the work schedule and see when the best time to do that would be, and i'll call the ENT after that.
the last few weeks have been a whirlwind. i've now been employed for just over 2 weeks. i've completed the basic training and completed 3 actual shifts. it's been a lot of fun. the employees and customers are great. there's so much to learn that it can be very intimidating. i feel somewhat useless sometimes because i don't know where everything is, but i'm certainly learning a lot. i've seen all kinds of great ideas that i can use here and use to help my co-workers and customers.
it seems like when i'm not working, i'm doing laundry to wash work shirts and jeans. at least now i bought some more shirts for work, so i don't have to do laundry every day. i worry about shadow and hope he is ok. he seems fine, but i still worry. i need to pick up a few small, clear storage boxes to put away some sweaters because i'm sick of looking at them falling off of the closet shelf.
adam has been busy with school, and he's been shuffled to yet another counselor again. gee, SHOCKING! he's excited about the new remote control that he ordered. fedex should deliver it today. this one is rechargeable, so that will realllllly be nice. the bad thing is that he'll have to reprogram the old universal remote for the bedroom and the new one for the living room.
we had dinner at mccormick and schmick's last night. the crabcakes with shrimp were awesome. actually, they're some of the best crabcakes that i've had in a really, really long time. even the fish that adam ordered was excellent.
work has been great. friday morning was VERY early, but i learned a lot. saturday night was my first real shift. it was busy, but it was great to really have a chance to interact with customers. my co-workers are awesome. they're so helpful. i feel bad that i keep bugging them with questions, but they're so great about it. the store meeting on sunday was also jam packed with information. i don't work again until friday which is very good because my calves hurt from doing so much running around!
we also got some minor housework done. we picked up some new drawers for our elfa units and one new drawer unit because adam really liked the mesh drawers he saw one of the catalogs. it's nice to have everything in more order. i need to pick up a holder that keeps unused hangers organized because we have an ungodly large amount.
today was my first day at work. actually, it was the first time i've gone to "work" since leaving attws in february 2004. getting up at 6:30 was rough to be there at 8, but it was worth it. the store, company, and people are amazing. i am very excited and thankful to be there. there a ton of information to soak in, but i have such a passion for customer service and the amazing product mix that i can't wait. i learned an awful lot today. this is going to be so much fun! i've got tomorrow off, but i'll be back at 6am on friday for another full day. :) now, it is time to toss my work t-shirt in the washing machine!
